Sometime in May, 2008, Laura and I visited Marcia and presented her with a prayer shawl. It was just a couple of days before her surgery for breast cancer.
We found Marcia working in her garden--one of her favorite hobbies. She was trying to get as much done before her surgery so that she could enjoy being in her garden while she healed. Marcia shared with us the decisions that she had been having to make and the roller coaster of emotions that she had been experiencing. We cried and prayed with her while she wrapped her shawl around herself.
It is now July. Marcia has experienced some difficulties following her surgery, but she seems to be doing well and getting the treatments that she needs. She had been at church and looks fantastic!
"The LORD will guide you always;
he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring whose waters never fail." Isaiah 58:11

You ladies have such a wonderful ministry! I am so proud of you all!
P.S. If you run out of things to knit, remember its cold in Michigan and I have a little one of the way! Mom already sent me the first sweater. It is the best gift I've ever received. Thank you, Gami! I'll post the sweater tomorrow!
Thanks again ladies for sharing your gift with the sick. I love you all!
